About this piece
A wall hanging built from pinecones gathered and mounted on natural wood, bound with twine. It is a quiet, textural piece rather than a bold one — it reads as part of the room rather than competing with it, which is what makes it work in hallways, porches and rooms that already have a lot going on.
The materials are left unpainted and unvarnished, so the colour is whatever the wood and the cones actually are: browns, greys and warm tans that shift depending on the light.

Hanging and care
It hangs from a twine loop on a single nail or picture hook and is light enough not to need a wall plug in most walls. Keep it out of direct damp — a porch is fine, an unventilated bathroom is not. Dust it occasionally with a dry brush rather than a cloth, which can catch on the cones.
Natural materials
Pinecones are a natural material and will continue to respond to humidity: they open a little in dry air and close in damp. This is normal and does not affect the piece. Materials are cleaned and prepared before use.
